Carolyn Dorfman Dance seeks an Assistant Company Manager to support the artistic/performance/education/touring work of the dance company. The ACM reports to the Artistic Director (AD), is supervised by the Company Manager and will work with the Associate Artistic Director and Executive Director to assist with the operations. This work will include remote, occasional on-site in the Company office (Union, NJ) and travel throughout NJ and NYC. Specific work days to be determined with Artistic Director and Company Manager. Additional touring is possible.

Position: Part-time, up to 20 hours/week. Able to be flexible, days to be determined upon accepting position

Location: Hybrid – Remote/On-site (Union, NJ office)

Position Available: Immediately

Salary: $18-$22.50/hour.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Assistant Company Manager’s responsibilities includes

• Assist Company Manager with planning logistics including maintaining company calendars, booking rehearsal space, assisting production/residency scheduling and itineraries, assisting with audition and touring needs, and compiling statistic documentation for government reports.

• Assist with transporting and loading in props, costumes and other needs to and from storage, rehearsals and performances. Provide assistance to production, stage manager and front of house support, especially on opening and closing night functions.

• Facilitate rehearsals, performances, and educational residencies, and support the Artistic and Administrative Teams. Assist where needed, for example with personnel paperwork, music licensing rights, and duties that may arise in support of artist care.

Requirements

This position requires at least two years of college preferably in the arts, business, or 3-5 years of direct experience in dance/theater, stage management. Strong verbal and written communications skills, ability to multi-task and work with different personalities. A valid driver's license, clean driving record and reliable transportation is required. Skilled in using Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) and familiar with MAC and associated production software including Google Drive and QLab. Some evening and weekend work will be required. Must be able to lift light props, boxes, items for the stage or front of house up to 40 lbs.

As with all Company employees, the Assistant Company Manager is required to be vaccinated against COVID-19 and to maintain fully vaccinated status when they are eligible.
