The Group Sales Manager is responsible for the development and execution of a multi-faceted group ticket sales campaign. In addition, the Group Sales Manager will be a key component in the creation of a young-professionals program at the NJSO. This position reports to the Director of Patron Services.

Core responsibilities:
• Creating a business plan to generate group ticket sales revenue.
• Consistent daily outreach to different market segments.
• Acting as a resource to the patron services team.
• Attending networking events to generate sales leads.
• Developing a specialized ticketing program for patrons between the ages of 21 and 40.

Duties and Responsibilities

GROUP SALES (60%)
• Develop group ticket segments such as corporate, tourism, university and alumni, resident communities and others to increase audiences and support marketing department revenue goals.
• Follow up with past clients in order to renew their orders for another season.
• Proactively call, email and set appointments in an effort to generate new clients and revenue streams.
• Develop a sales pipeline report to report out on sales prospecting efforts.
• Target opportunities to push promo-code opportunities in the market.
• Liaise with third-party ticket vendors for promotional offers around targeted concerts.
• Be an avid networker willing to generate new relationships to help grow sales opportunities.
• Represent the NJSO at events with a direct tie to group ticket sales revenue generation.

AUDIENCE DEVELOPMENT (30%)
• Research local organizations to understand the current marketplace and programs available for prospective patrons between ages 21–40.
• Provide recommendations to marketing team for how this program should operate.
• Develop relationships with key locations in and around NJSO venues, to create events/meeting hubs for these patrons either before or after performances.
• Collaborate with Development and Education & Community Engagement departments where applicable in further developing this targeted program.

OTHER (10%)
• Actively support Director of Patron Services in the call room when needed.
• Maintain positive and productive relationships with NJSO patrons, staff, musicians, media vendors and consultants.
• Contribute as an active member of the marketing team, developing marketing strategies to meet institutional objectives; attend and actively participate in weekly supervisor and team meetings.
• Stay within a given budget for all marketing initiatives.
• Code invoices for payment and reconcile with finance data.
• Serve as marketing department representative at concerts and meetings.
• Perform additional projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be able to physically work in our Newark, NJ, office.
• Must be able to work evenings, weekends and some holidays; and provide own transportation to multiple NJSO performance venues.
• Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

Salary and Benefits: The NJSO offers a competitive salary and benefits package but does not offer relocation expenses.

Hours: Full time. Expectation is to work business hours, between 8 am and 6 pm. Additional evenings and weekends are required, specifically for working concerts in multiple locations throughout northern New Jersey and promotional on sales.
