The Drumthwacket Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit, non-partisan organization entrusted with the conservation and restoration of Drumthwacket, the official residence of the NJ Governor and nationally landmarked historic site, and providing educational visiting opportunities to the public. The Program Manager ensures professional oversight and management of the Foundation’s educational programs and special events. The position is full time and reports to the Executive Director.

Duties and Responsibilities

Manage the Discover Drumthwacket school field trip program, public tours and specially requested tours. Organize and maintain monthly schedule, serve as primary liaison with teachers/principals and Drumthwacket residence staff

Recruit, train and manage volunteer Docents, organize monthly schedules, meetings, plan the annual appreciation luncheon, program kick-off and end-year gatherings; conduct annual performance reviews

Coordinate Special Events including but not limited to, the annual Carnival for Children with Special Needs, Fine Art Exhibit receptions and holiday open houses

Serve as liaison with Garden Club of New Jersey to coordinate and manage the holiday decoration of Drumthwacket

Assist the Foundation’s Executive Director on special projects, such as the Foundation’s three-year climate change contest, and the development of new programs as requested

Assist residence staff with set-up and break-down of Foundation events, board meetings etc.

Ability to serve the Office of the Governor regardless of political affiliation

Ability to arrive early and/or stay late as needed with respects to special events and programs as needed

Ability to work as a team

College degree and proven record of successful event/program management

The Foundation offers a simple IRA savings plan for employees but does not offer health benefits.
