The Count Basie Center for the Arts, in the ever-growing and beautiful downtown Red Bank, New Jersey, is seeking a Scholarship Programs Manager with experience in program management, development and community relations to oversee multiple scholarship programs, including the Basie Center’s Forever For Everyone endowment, and ensure recipients meet all prerequisites. The Scholarship Programs Manager will function under the direction of the Vice President of Education & Outreach and the general direction of the Senior Director of Development.

Duties and Responsibilities


Program Management:
o Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of scholarship programs.
o Work closely with applicants, staff, and stakeholders to ensure a smooth application process, effective distribution of awards, and alignment with program goals.
o Regularly assess and improve scholarship program policies and processes to ensure efficiency and responsiveness to the needs of applicants and stakeholders.

Applicant Support:
o Process scholarship awards, communicating with applicants, prospective students, and families.
o Provide guidance to applicants on eligibility, application procedures, and deadlines.
o Review and assess applications, ensuring that the selection process is fair and transparent.
o Communicate with applicants throughout the process, including providing feedback and updates.

Participant & Stakeholder Engagement:
o Build relationships with students, parents, staff, community members, schools, and area nonprofit organizations to promote and grow scholarship programs.
o Manage scholarship donor stewardship and cultivate relationships to support scholarship programs.
o Work closely with donors and external partners to coordinate scholarships and fundraising initiatives.
o Organize and manage scholarship-related events, including selection committees, award ceremonies, and informational sessions.

Data Management & Reporting:
o Track scholarship applications, awards, and disbursements using program management systems.
o Prepare and present regular reports on program performance, outcomes, and metrics to leadership and stakeholders.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a managerial level comparable position.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent non-traditional educational experience.
• Meticulous organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; experience working in a lead capacity.
• Demonstrate a sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of students and of those with physical and learning disabilities.
• Motivated self-starter with the ability to work collaboratively and independently with purpose and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace Suite.
• Familiarity with data management tools or CRM platforms.
• Be available to attend events in the evenings and weekends as required.

This is a full-time, exempt position and eligible for The Basie’s competitive benefits package that includes paid time off (personal, sick and vacation), insurance (health, dental, vision, life, long and short-term disability) and a 401(k)-retirement plan including company match. This position operates on a hybrid schedule that allows for remote work 2 days a week. The annual salary range is $55,000 - $65,000 commensurate with experience.
