The Community Programs Manager is responsible for the planning, management, and quality of Nimbus' off-site educational programs — including in-school residencies, afterschool programs, Assembly performances, and community partnerships across Hudson County and beyond.
This is a hands-on leadership role that combines relationship-building, teaching artist management, program coordination, and grant compliance. The right candidate is both strategic and detail-oriented. They are comfortable representing Nimbus in the community, managing a roster of teaching artists, and ensuring that every program reflects Nimbus' values and educational standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
Off-Site Program Management
•Plan and coordinate all aspects of off-site educational programs, including in-school residencies, afterschool programs, and community-based initiatives
•Seek new partnership opportunities with public and private schools, community centers, and local organizations; represent Nimbus at marketing fairs, community events, and partnership meetings
•Manage all program logistics, including dates, times, locations, pricing, and final performances — including scheduling, tech, setup/strike, and building use forms
•Handle all communication and correspondence with partner organizations, school administrators, PTAs, and participant families
•Coordinate field trips to Jersey Nutcracker and Repertory Matinee performances, including scheduling, payment, pre-show materials, and school follow-up
•Collect and maintain program data, including student demographics, enrollment numbers, and pre/post learning indicator surveys

Teaching Artist Management
•Recruit, hire, onboard, and supervise Nimbus teaching artists for all community programs
Schedule and facilitate ongoing teacher meetings to reinforce curriculum alignment and program quality
•Plan and execute professional development, training, and community-building events for teaching staff
Maintain and enforce staff protocols around attendance, dress code, and professional conduct
•Provide regular feedback and performance support to teaching artists

Grant Compliance & Reporting
•Maintain all program documentation required for grant compliance, including accurate student counts, scholarship records, proof of income, and demographic data as needed.
•Support leadership in the preparation of grant narratives related to educational programming by providing accurate program data, outcomes, and participant stories
•Attend funder meetings as requested by leadership; represent program work clearly and accurately
Identify and flag new potential funding sources for educational programming to leadership for follow-up

Community Pathway & School Collaboration
•Actively cultivate the pipeline from community program participation to School of Nimbus enrollment, ensuring families in off-site programs are aware of and supported in accessing school programming
•Collaborate with the School of Nimbus team on enrollment initiatives, shared events, and cross-program communications
•Work with marketing and communications staff to develop language and materials for program promotion

Requirements

Required:
Passion for dance, performing arts, or arts education
Experience managing educational programs, community partnerships, or youth-serving organizations
Strong relationship-building skills; comfortable representing an organization externally with schools, community partners, and families
Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple programs and deadlines simultaneously
Strong working knowledge of Gmail and Google Suite;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Prefered:
Familiarity with grant-funded programs and compliance documentation is preferred
Familiarity with school systems and educational standards is strongly preferred
Flexible and hands-on; comfortable in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment
Experience hiring, managing, and supporting teaching artists or program staff
Bilingual a plus
