In addition to voting, it is imperative that we spread the word about voter registration. September 15th is National Voter Registration Day. Below are helpful links, dates, and everything you need to register to vote or confirm your registration.

Know Before You Vote: Where Do The Candidates Stand on the Arts?

Voting is a huge part of being an arts advocate. But it’s also crucial to be an informed voter. Advocating for the sustainability and accessibility of the arts requires us to know where our elected officials stand on these issues. Each year, ArtPride New Jersey distributes surveys to all incumbent legislators and challengers to inform New Jersey residents about each candidate's positions on the arts. Our organization provides this information to voters for informational purposes only. Responses do not suggest the endorsement of any candidate or party.

Results of our Gubernatorial and State Assembly surveys are available now.

Nonprofits are already helping communities access information, resources, and support. Voter engagement can be a natural part of that work, too.  501(c)(3) public charities can engage in a wide range of activities, from voter registration, education, get-out-the vote and much more, as long as this work is done on a nonpartisan basis. And we know that when nonprofits engage with the community as nonpartisan, trusted partners, voter participation grows, especially among people who have been historically excluded from the process.

Please download and use it and share it with your colleagues and friends. Contact the Center or the other resources in the guide for more information. In so many ways, the stakes are too high to stay on the sidelines.
