The acclaimed Two River Theater seeks a visionary and strategic Director of Development (DOD) to propel the organization to new levels of philanthropic engagement. Reporting to the Managing Director, they will serve as a strategic partner and practitioner of the organization to develop and lead a comprehensive, creative fundraising strategy. The DOD will mentor, advise, and inspire a staff of three with an eye to expanding the department.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Serve as a strategic partner and practitioner of the organization, develop and implement a comprehensive and creative fundraising strategy in collaboration with other department heads that includes individuals, corporations, foundations, government entities, and events to meet a $2M revenue goal.
• Personally manage a portfolio of major donors; cultivate and steward gifts from individuals by maintaining frequent contact and developing new relationships with prospects.
• Actively participate and work with Board of Trustees committees; empower, motivate, train and coach Trustees, volunteers, and allies to support fundraising efforts; engage in and support Board of Trustees recruitment efforts.
• Generate a fresh and exciting cultivation and stewardship plan for funders and prospects for the Artistic Director, Managing Director, and Board of Trustees.

Requirements

Select Qualifications
• 7+ years' experience in fundraising, including management experience.
• Demonstrated success in building and implementing fundraising strategy; includes cultivation, solicitation, gift closure, and stewardship of gifts up to six figures from various sources and donors.
• Passion and curiosity for the arts and an understanding of the profound role theater can play in the communities it serves; a deep belief in TRT’s vision and mission.
• Commitment to and working knowledge of how to incorporate IDEA values into fundraising strategy.
• Demonstrated commitment to anti-racism and an inclusive world view.
• Experience in devising and implementing capital and annual fund, multi-channel campaigns including segmentation, direct mail, email and social media.
