In collaboration with the Company Manager, our Company Management Assistants provide vital support to visiting artists, ensuring seamless operations and exceptional experiences for our visiting artists. Duties include assisting with travel and errands, maintaining artist housing, supporting various events across the organization, and more.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating and executing local ground travel for artists and grocery runs for Theatre Series company.
• Prep and maintain McCarter housing for visiting artists, including purchasing supplies and coordinating cleaning services.
• Coordinate ticket requests for Theatre Series design and creative team in collaboration with Patron Services.
• Run errands as required for the Theatre Series company and Presented Event artists.
• Assist in the preparation and execution of welcome and onboarding materials for theatre visiting artists and stage managers.
• Provide day-of support for hospitality needs for Presented Events.
• Collaborate on and support staff-wide wellness events, social gatherings, celebrations, and all-staff projects.
• Adhere to safe working practices while embodying McCarter safety and code of conduct policies
• Participate in the work to make McCarter an anti-racist theater. Actively seek ways to improve our work practices to make the Production department, and Company Management team more equitable and inclusive, while upholding and exhibiting our stated values of “justice and joy, beauty and belonging.”

Requirements

Qualifications
• The ideal candidate will be highly collaborative, communicative, maintain a positive outlook, and have a great sense of humor.
• Able to prioritize and manage multiple projects; maintain confidential information with discretion; and exercise good judgement in heightened situations.
• Demonstrated proficiency using standard software and web-based applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience with Tessitura and/or ArtsVision is a plus.
• A critical consciousness and interest in the values and practices that can help build and sustain an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace
• Ability to collaborate with diverse needs, personalities, and work styles with optimism and a solution-discovery mindset
• Individuals are strongly encouraged but not currently required to be up to date on COVID-19 vaccinations.
• Final candidates must successfully complete a background screening with a motor vehicle record check

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working as a stage or events manager a plus, but not necessary
• Working knowledge of the AEA, SDC, USA, and LORT a plus, but not necessary

Work Environment
• Valid US driver’s license; must be comfortable driving a passenger van in various weather conditions including heavy rain and snow.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

• In-person work will primarily be completed in a shared office space at 91 University Pl, Princeton, NJ with HVAC cooling/heating, as well as various rented apartments units for artist housing
• This position is required to be on-site and in attendance for various performances and events. These will be communicated and scheduled in advance.

LOCATION & SCHEDULE: This is an in-person position reporting to our administrative offices and theaters located at 91 University Place in Princeton, NJ. Schedule will include nights, weekends, and some holidays, as scheduled in advance. Weekly schedule can average around 20 to 40 hours, dependent on production needs and availability.

START DATE: This position will be filled as early as possible, with work available through at least January 12th, 2024 (varied schedule, mainly weeknights and weekends)
