Grounds For Sculpture is seeking a part time (up to 25 hours per week) Public Safety to join our team. Public Safety proposes, institutes, and oversees the safety and security procedures and protocols for Grounds For Sculpture. They are responsible for the security within the park and the safety of our patrons and staff on a day-to-day basis and in any emergency situation.

Duties and Responsibilities

Grounds For Sculpture (GFS) is at the beginning of a long path toward building a more equitable, diverse, and inclusive (EDI) institution. We are looking for individuals, at all levels of the institution, who are interested in joining us on this journey of intentionality and public accountability. This path broadens our workforce (board, staff, volunteers), expands our artist selection and acquisition practice as well as strengthens our internal and external communication systems, networks and norms.

Grounds For Sculpture is seeking a part time (up to 25 hours per week) Public Safety to join our team. Public Safety proposes, institutes, and oversees the safety and security procedures and protocols for Grounds For Sculpture. They are responsible for the security within the park and the safety of our patrons and staff on a day-to-day basis and in any emergency situation.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Acts as in-house first responder in case of any park emergencies (disruptive patrons, medical emergencies, traffic congestion, emergency vehicle in-take, contacting 911, if appropriate etc.)
• Serve as an ambassador for Grounds For Sculpture to help foster a culture of inclusion for all members, donors, volunteers, and guests.
• Maintains a CPR/AED certification at all times and is able to administer defibrillator assistance
• Acts as First Responder and administers first aid
• Assists with monitoring the park during large rental events as needed (may involve late evening hours)
• Record and maintain accident and incident reports
• Coordinates with Guest Services Managers daily to plan for groups, visitor issues, and events
• Coordinates with Guest Services to organize parking and traffic control
• Assists with lost and found items and maintaining a lost and found log
• Patrol the park on a regular basis to oversee security and safety of our patrons and to maintain a friendly presence in the park for patrons who may need assistance
• All other duties as assigned

Requirements

Requirements
• High school diploma
• 2 or more years work related experience in a related field
• CPR/AED certificate, First Aid Training required
• Must be willing to work evenings, weekends and be flexible with schedule; willing to work in various temperatures
• Demonstrate respect and inclusiveness to all employees, embracing differences
• Proven exceptional customer service skills, organization, and attention to detail
• Spanish fluency encouraged
• Basic computer knowledge
• Training in dealing with public emergencies
• De-escalation and conflict resolution
• Knowledge of facility safety codes and security standards for public organizations
• Experience working in environments that attract large crowds - crowd control experience.
