The ideal candidate has familiarity with the K-12 public school system and arts education ecosystem of NJ. The candidate is able to think creatively and strategically about how to engage and advocate across disciplines. They have the ability to develop and maintain authentic relationships with various partners of Arts Ed NJ and Governor's Awards community, and possess the ability to successfully assist with promoting and implementing concurrent projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Data Collection, Organizing and Data Entry
- Annual School Board Candidate Survey
- Support of Governor’s Awards committees, meetings, and related activities
- Support of multiple social media accounts on various platforms including but not limited to @ArtsEdNJ @NJGAAE @ArtsEdSEL and @ArtsEdNow
- Creation and dissemination of communications campaign materials
- Contact and cultivate relationships with advocates, partners, student, schools, and community
- Support the Development staff with Governor’s Awards sponsorships and ads
- Proactively pitch new, original content and source user-generated content that surfaces the authentic voices of educators, students, alumni and community on our social channels including youtube
- Provide weekly analysis and insights regarding performance
- Attend arts education events throughout the state as a representative for Arts Ed NJ and Arts Ed Now (www.artsednow.org) movement.
- Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

Strong administrative skills and experience with Google Suite, Zoom, Excel and data.
- Familiarity with preK-12 arts education topics and trends is preferred
- High level organizational skills, willingness and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently
- The desired individual must possess a passion for the arts and arts education as well as an ability to interact effectively with people of different cultures and experiences, within an organizational culture that works to be free from prejudice and aggressions.
- Ability to handle confidential information with sensitivity and accuracy
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new software applications
- Excellent communication skills—verbal and written; a solid eye for detail and composition
- Experience with hosting live streams, video editing, and interviewing is a plus.
- Familiarity with canva and wordpress is a plus
- Spanish-language fluency is a plus

Compensation This position is a paid independent contractor role beginning August 2024 and running through the end of Arts Ed NJ’s fiscal year on June 30, 2025, with the potential for an extension. It will require 20 hours per week at $22 an hour.
