The Manager of Programming is a key member of the programming team responsible for supporting the mainstage programming activities and for programming the Studio Series and educational and community engagement events of State Theatre New Jersey. Reports to President & CEO and Programming Consultant.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist the President & CEO and the Programming Consultant with offer creation, tracking, follow up, and dissemination of confirmed offers for mainstage performances.
• In consultation with the President & CEO and the Director of Communications & Community Engagement, research, select, book, and manage the Studio Series, the Performances for Schools Series, the Milk & Cookies Series, and other small room or educational programming as needed.
• Oversee contract administration including initial contract review and work with Executive Assistant to the CEO on payments processing.
• Settle shows as needed including interfacing with finance for final payments for artists and/or VIP vendors.
• Coordinate and maintain events calendar and event information in Prism.
• Manage database of pending show offers.
• Maintain detailed confirmation schedule with information for each artist/attraction.
• Communicate with artist management regarding artist ticket holds.
• Develop and maintain a database of touring attractions.
• Support artist research and strategic programming initiatives.
• Report sales data to industry publications.
• Manage inter-departmental event communications regarding contractual obligations, event details, and venue requirements.
• Maintain archive of past performances of presented, co-presented, and rental events
• Assist with tracking of invoices and payments.
• Other duties and special projects as may be assigned.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in related position.
• Strong interpersonal and cultivation skills.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage a variety of assignments concurrently and meet multiple deadlines.
• Ability to work a varied schedule to include nights and weekends as dictated by the performance schedule.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products with emphasis on Excel and Word.


Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in performance programming, event management, artist management, talent booking, etc.
• Knowledge and appreciation of performing arts
