The Community Liaison focuses efforts on three critical areas of activity:
Developing the Symphony’s partnerships with schools and school districts, ensuring the widest possible participation in its school-time Concerts for Young People
Raising awareness of the Symphony’s wide-ranging community programs, education resources and special ticket offers
Providing both administrative and on-site support for the Symphony’s flagship Community Partners and Youth Orchestra programs
To accomplish this three-part accountability, the Community Liaison reports to the Vice President of ECE and collaborates closely with the Director of Operations & Community Programs and the Director of Education.

Duties and Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES- Champion the Symphony as a resource for youth, families and communities
- Cultivate relationships with schools, community organizations and parent networks
- Manage the promotion of and registration process for the Symphony’s school-time concerts
- Administer surveys and track participation statistics for school-time concerts and Community Partners
offerings to support program development and reporting
- Maintain database of school and community partners
- Create and proof marketing materials in alignment with Symphony branding guidelines
- Represent the Symphony at events hosted by current and prospective partners
- Coordinate community performances by chamber ensembles of the Youth Orchestra
- Assist with Youth Orchestra special events and recruitment activities
- Support grassroots marketing and promotion of mainstage concerts
- Support the Symphony’s ADA compliance efforts
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS & ESSENTIAL SKILLS- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
- Minimum one (1) year of experience coordinating arts, community and/or education programs
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with standard Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent communication abilities and organizational skills
- Great attention to detail and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- High capacity for independent work as well as collaboration with team members
- Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and CRM systems (Tessitura) a plus
- Familiarity with marketing/promotion via social media channels a plus

SALARY & BENEFITS
The New Jersey Symphony offers a competitive salary and benefits package. The salary range for this position is $42,000–47,000. The Symphony offers no relocation stipend for this role.
OTHER INFORMATION
Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
Must be able to work some evenings, weekends and holidays; and provide own transportation to multiple event venues across the state.
Physical requirements include carrying and setting up promotional materials, music folders, music stands, chairs and/or supplies.
