Liberty Hall, a historic house museum and arboretum in Union, New Jersey, is seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and friendly Museum Operations Coordinator to join the team in a part-time position. The Museum Coordinator will work collaboratively with the Executive Director to oversee the day-to-day running of Liberty Hall. This position requires creativity, positive energy, organizational skills, a strong interest in history, and effective communication.

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Duties:

Responsible for assisting in the day-to-day running of Liberty Hall Museum.
Oversee and collaborate with senior staff, museum educators, and volunteers.
Serve as Human Resources in hiring and onboarding new staff, and act as a liaison between museum staff and the Executive Director.
Oversee the museum’s Client Reservation Systems (CRM), data management, and website management.
Assist with invoice payments and budgets in collaboration with the Executive Director and Bookkeepers.
Assist with set-up, preparation, teardown, and cleanup of all materials and activities for various programs, when applicable.
Assist with special events in the evenings and weekends as needed
Perform other duties as required by management.

Requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in public administration, project management, human resources, business, or related discipline with three years’ work experience.
Bilingual in Spanish and English.

Required Qualifications:

This position is part-time, and this person must be available periodically in the evenings and weekends for special events
Enthusiastic team member with strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively across departments and with outside contacts and vendors
Confident using basic computer programs and the Microsoft Office and Google suites
Documented ability to think and implement “out of the box” and to push historic house museums in new directions
Sees change as an opportunity rather than an obstacle
Must be able to lift and move 30 pounds, as required
