Grounds For Sculpture is seeking a part time Senior Sales Associate to join our team. The Senior Sales Associate reports directly to the Manager of Museum Shop. The Senior Sales Associate will help to maintain a clean, orderly, well-stocked store appearance, assist with merchandising and displays, and enhance customer experiences through their assistance and pleasant, friendly, and outgoing demeanor. In the absence of shop management, the Senior Sales Associate will act as Manager on Duty, and will have access to the safe and keys while doing these duties.

Duties and Responsibilities

Grounds For Sculpture (GFS) is at the beginning of a long path toward building a more equitable, diverse, and inclusive (EDI) institution. This path broadens our workforce (board, staff, volunteers), expands our artist selection and acquisition practice as well as strengthens our internal and external communication systems, networks and norms.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Responsible and accountable for accurate cash handling and efficient sales transactions at register and safe
• Circulate throughout the store to assist with guest inquiries, facilitate sales, retrieve merchandise purchased and aid in loss prevention
• Manage inventory, identify low product inventory, maintain and proactively restock merchandise from storage or warehouse.
• Assist with processing new merchandise (includes retrieving packages from administrative offices, affixing price tags, counting receivables, assisting with displays or storage as needed)
• Serve as an ambassador for Grounds For Sculpture to help foster a culture of inclusion for all members, donors, volunteers, and guests.
• Process telephone orders and handle customer inquiries demonstrating exceptional customer service.
• Perform open and/or close duties
• Access the safe and handle change orders in the absence of a manager.

Requirements


Requirements
• Previous retail experience preferred
• 2 or more years work related and cash handling experience preferred
• Previous key holder preferred
• Spanish fluency encouraged
• Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills
• Professional, friendly and pleasant demeanor
• Demonstrate respect and inclusiveness to all employees, embracing differences
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, POS systems and Altru preferred
• Must be a team player, working cooperatively with employees both within your respective department as well as in external departments
• Excellent customer services skills
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, mornings, and holidays to support store operations
