The Marketing & Communications Director advances Eagle Theatre’s mission by setting the strategic direction for all external marketing and communications. As a member of the management team at a small, $600,000 producing organization, the Director will be able to balance both strategy and execution. Candidates should possess an understanding of and be able to contribute to the identity of Eagle Theatre as both an inclusive, professional theater and as a destination in the Downtown Hammonton arts district in Atlantic County.

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities and Expectations

Provides strategic leadership for Eagle Theatre’s marketing, branding, and communications efforts as the organization moves forward with a new operating and programming plan, beginning in the 2023-2024 season.

Works with the Board, Artistic Leadership, and Managing Director to develop the institution’s brand strategy.

Develops key strategies and executes marketing initiatives, outreach efforts, and related activities.

Leads annual marketing budget planning and tracking, including expenses and earned income.

Collaborates with all stakeholders to create and implement high-level, cohesive marketing initiatives tailored to each of the theater’s programs.

Creates and manages communications strategies to secure interviews, features, and reviews in local and national media.

Supports the executive and fundraising team members in creating and implementing marketing plans for individual and institutional giving campaigns, fundraising events, and sponsorships.

Sets effective goals for optimizing earned income potential, and monitors and evaluates sales efforts using Eagle Theatre’s CRM and data systems (currently PatronManager).

Develops and implements communications strategies to increase Eagle Theatre’s profile locally and nationally.

Creates a plan for collecting and analyzing data to inform strategies and communications methods.

Tracks local, state, and national trends, issues, and activities that impact Eagle Theatre’s goals, plans, and operations.

Manages the workflow of a small, deadline-driven department, and oversees all external communications contractors.

The Marketing & Communications Director will be an effective storyteller, strategic thinker and proactive problem solver who uses data to drive progress towards goals.

They will develop custom, multi-channel marketing strategies that build genuine connection and community.

The Director should be passionate about the power of theatre to impact lives, create community, and to empower diverse voices to be heard.

Accomplished, strategic, innovative, and forward-thinking manager with a minimum of 3 years of marketing experience.

Demonstrated ability to think strategically and project manage effectively to meet deadlines and goals.

Proven sense for design and visual communications; effective manager of the creative process across all mediums.

Confident and highly collaborative communicator that contributes to a positive organizational culture.

Effective relationship-builder who creates engaging relationships with media, press community organizations, board members, employees, and leadership.
