The Summer Camp Manager is the primary on-site point person for StageWorks’ summer camp programming, supporting the day-to-day operations of camps while working under the supervision of the Education Manager. This role is essential to ensuring camps run smoothly, safely, and efficiently for students, families, and staff. The Camp Manager oversees logistics, communication, and facility coordination, allowing instructors to focus on teaching and creating.

This is a seasonal position, but can lead to other full time opportunities at StageWorks Theatre Group.

This position is in-person 8am-4:30pm M-Th, and 8am-8pm Fridays from June 29- August 14. There will be occasional onboarding meetings or events to attend before June 29, which are $16/hour.

Duties and Responsibilities

Daily Operations & Facility Management
Unlock and open the building each day by 8:00 AM
Print and prepare all daily camp materials (schedules, rosters, scripts, music etc.)
Coordinate space usage throughout the building, including room assignments and transitions
Organize and manage daily lunch and snack breaks

Communication & Administration
Take daily attendance for all camps
Communicate attendance updates and daily notes to the Education Manager
Send and respond to parent communications using the shared StageWorks summer camp email account
Send welcome to camp emails, first day emails, mid-week emails, and showcase reminder emails
Create camp showcase programs using templates provided
Serve as the on-site contact for parent questions, concerns, and pick-up/drop-off needs.
Manage after care students and track payments

Staff & Program Support
Maintain regular communication with camp staff throughout the day
Ensure staff compliance with StageWorks policies, procedures, and camp expectations
Support instructors with logistical needs to keep programming on schedule

Props, Costumes & Production Needs
Collect prop and costume requests from instructors
Communicate needs clearly and in a timely manner to the Prop Manager and Costume Manager
Track and follow up on materials needed for rehearsals and showcases

Camper Safety & Experience
Ensure the safety, supervision, and well-being of all campers at all times
Uphold StageWorks’ standards for a positive, inclusive, and respectful camp environment
Respond promptly and professionally to any on-site issues or emergencies

Requirements

Experience working with children between the ages of 5-18
Sub-certified & background checked (StageWorks will provide reimbursement for any fingerprinting expenses)
Experience managing a team of peers
Performing arts background
Excellent written & oral communication skills
Weekend availability as needed- night availability on Friday evenings for final showcases

Compensation: $400 per week Duration: 8 weeks (June 29 – August 14) All contractors at StageWorks Theatre Group are independent contractors, not employees.
