The Hunterdon Art Museum seeks an enthusiastic and organized Visitor Services Associate to help create an exceptional experience for every guest. As the first point of contact for visitors, this role is central to welcoming the public, supporting daily operations and fostering meaningful connections within our community.
The Visitor Services Associate oversees front desk operations, supports visitor engagement, coordinates visitor services staff and volunteers, and helps ensure the museum’s galleries, shop, and public spaces operate smoothly and professionally.

Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities• Welcome visitors, answer questions, process admission and memberships, manage visitor flow and provide outstanding customer service.
• Implement daily opening and closing procedures
• Train and schedule front desk staff and volunteers
• Maintain front desk, lobby, museum shop, and adjacent public spaces
• Oversee mailings
• Ensure smooth operation of museum shop including sales, inventory, consignment and displays
• Collect and maintain visitor data
• Place and track office supply orders
• Collaborate with museum staff on exhibitions, education programs, communications and special projects
• Assist with volunteer recruitment
• Clerical duties as assigned
Requirements
Qualifications• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Experience in customer service; experience in a museum or cultural organization preferred
• Strong organization skills with ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Teams, etc.); experience with donor databases is a plus
• Interest in contemporary art preferred
• Ability to lift and move up to 25 lbs.
How To Apply
Salary: $17/hr, no health benefits
Schedule: Wed – Fri, 10:45 to 5:15 with option to cover occasional special events and programs
