Overview of Responsibilities: The Director of Development is charged with raising all contributed income for Symphony in C. The Director of Development is responsible for directing and implementing an annual comprehensive plan to meet all fund-raising goals of the Symphony from individuals, corporations, foundations and government agencies, and to communicate both the plan and the progress in achieving the goals established to the board of directors on a regular basis.

You will work closely with our Director of Development and team to identify, cultivate, and steward major donors, while also developing innovative strategies to increase planned and estate gifts. With your knowledge in fundraising practices, you will play a key role in achieving our organization's fundraising goals and advancing our mission.

Job Description & Responsibilities:

The Manager of Institutional Giving is a key member of the Development team responsible for managing and growing the portfolio of corporate, foundation, government, and institutional funders to achieve revenue goals, build beneficial partnerships, and reach organizational objectives. Grant application, management, and reporting are integral aspects of the position.

The Director of Development is responsible for creating and implementing a comprehensive fundraising plan that aligns with the Museum’s current and future budget needs. Reporting directly to the Executive Director and overseeing a part-time grant writer, the Director of Development will be responsible for devising and executing strategic fundraising initiatives that support the Museum’s mission and growth while managing the day to day responsibilities of the Department. Responsibilities include foundation, corporate and government relations and individual giving, including all campaigns and special events.
